Southerners may relate to this. You travel all over the world, but you are always drawn to any place that serves what you consider to be food from home. I do like to try the food of the places I visit, but I will get drawn into comparing BBQ anywhere we go. Our New York family took us to BW's Smokin' Barrels Barbeque in Blasdell, NY (outside of Buffalo). I will have to say that they had some of the best mashed sweet potatoes I have eaten. The ribs and the mac and cheese were definitely more than fine. I will insist that we go there again when we visit. The atmosphere was good. The servers kept telling us we had pretty baby girls. You just can't beat that. I do regret not trying the pecan pie or the sweet tea. I am convinced that you cannot get good sweet tea north of Kentucky, but I should have at least given them a shot. Maybe next time.
