It is a great time of year in the South. We have gorgeous blue skies with great temperatures. If you haven't attended some sort of festival, you should. I also think this is the time of year many Southerners make a pilgrimage to the Great Smokey Mountains. Pack up and get out if you can. The crisp morning air will make you feel good. What did I like best about the fall festival? Naturally, it was the barbeque. The smell was so wonderful; it overpowered the smell of the horses and mules in the parade. I can pass up a candied apple, but it is difficult to walk past people smokin' some butts (my nephew will like that phrase). I also liked that I could take my 4 month old Proper Southern Baby Girl and introduce her to everyone I have ever known within an hour. Thank you to the Cherokee County, Alabama Chamber for the photos. It's hard to take pictures with a little one in hand.
